I ride a K2 Title 9. I like the logo because Title 9 is the law that, among other things, gave girls and women equal access to sports and physical fitness in school. I bought it about 10 years ago and the company was sold so they don’t make them anymore. I gets lots of comments on it because of the paint design.
Why do you ride?
I ride my bike for so many reasons: the environment, physical and emotional health, traffic avoidance and most of all fun! I love to be outdoors and riding a bike lets me do more of that.
Where do you ride?
I ride every day to work, and it is a voyage in sights and smells, taking me through Myrtle Edwards park with all the green space, tang of the sea and scent of flowers, then along the waterfront with the tourists and lovely essence of smoked salmon, next up through the International District with the aroma of dim sum wafting all around me, finally up to Seattle University Law School where I work. I also ride on weekends a lot, sometimes in the mountains (my favorite ride is Stevens Canyon to Paradise on Mt Rainier) or locally on the Burke Gilman Trail.
What's the best thing that happened to you while riding?
So many great things have happened—seeing the scenery and wildlife, hearing the snow melt, and feeling the sun, and wind and rain!—but my favorite thing is to run into friends around town.
